So, it’s been 2 wks since sch has started. How do I feel, well it’s been mixed. My 2 wks haf been both gd and bad considering tt the wk tt has juz passed was like de 1^st bad wk I had since sch started. Wow! Sch hasn’t started n I already had a bad wk. wonder how the semester is gg to b like if this goes on. So, here’s wat tt has been happening…

1^st wk of sch

Well, sch was fine n nothing much actually happened. During the 1^st wk, well it kind of dawned on me how many ppl I noe, either well or vaguely. Moreover, wif the recent field studies mod tt I juz did, well the no. juz increased. So the 1^st day was full of “hi” and “how r u”s, full of exchanging info on wat mods taken this sem, trying to find out if the same mods r taken. It was kind of ok 4 me since, de 1^st few days was kind of like full of ppl-watching. As my fren had pointed out 2 me, there seems to be more freshie guys and tt there r more ang mohs ard…cld it b tt the news abt NUS being one of the top 20 Unis haf increased its popularity among foreign students so much so they haf come 2 study here? Mayb, well I dun really care, some may say tt the increase in foreign students wld mean more competition, 2 me, it’s all fair in love n war. Haha, who noes mayb there’ll b more interesting eye-candy to c n admire..On fri, went 2 watch Charlie n the Choc Fac wif Sharifah n I haf 2 admit, I like this dark version of de much loved story. Some ppl of my frens didn’t really like it coz they say tt it was a lil morbid in comparison to the story which is more ‘happy’. Sharifah prefers the other movie version. I dunno, to each his own, I guess. I like this version coz it provides a new angle to a story n I feel tt it seems more real than more fairy-tale like. Moreover, Johnny Depp is acting n Tim Burton is directing..how exciting can it not get? Also, I juz joined Amore..hehe..i guess it’s time 4 me 2 get fit in the proper way n well fill my time wif smthg more worthwhile…a way 2 vent all those stress I guess..when I’ll actually start..hmmm tt’s another issue..but it’ll b soon…I’ll make sure of it..hehe..

So there, 1^st wk came n went..though it may seem boring, thinking back, it was not tt bad considering the underlying emotions experienced..n it made the naïve me think tt de nex wk wld b as pleasant as de 1^st wk…tell u more abt de 2^nd wk in de nex post..

Lectures

Apart fr tt nothing much happened. Here’s how de lectures haf been so far..

-Biophysical was a lil boring. I guess it’s the way the lecturer speaks tt bores me, coz the content is very interesting and quite a wonder. But oh well, can’t comment so much coz after all the most important thing is to get the concepts right and do well, not 2 comment on ppl’s way of teaching.

-Cities, I’ve heard some horror stories abt the mod n the lecturers. Well, while it’s too early to tell, I can understand why these horror stories come abt n why despite these horror stories abt the mod, ppl still continue to wan 2 take the mod. The content is really interesting n it makes u think how did towns evolve n develop. I mean, towns can b seen as juz buildings but when u think abt it further, u do start to wonder. But u can see how strict n precise Shirlena Huang is when she was lecturing and hence, a note to myself to b careful when I do my assignments.

-Natural Haz was very interesting. I haf 2 admit I was a lil worried since this mod deals quite a lot wif climate n climate has neva been my strong pt when it comes 2 studying it. So far, learning abt climate has been interesting n fun. The power of nature in shaping how we live n die is indeed interesting yet disturbing.

-American Lit, I feel is the most fun yet intimidating mod I’m taking in comparison wif the rest of the mods. It was of course by one of my fav lecturers. Though I was late( which is a wonder to me coz it seems like 4 this sem I seem 2 be late or juz in time 4 my lecs, I juz can’t seem to be early), I enjoyed the lesson thoroughly. Though I haf 2 admit tt I was intimidated by the knowledge n flair of the possibly lit majors in the class. The way they manage to spout lines from the poets neva cease to amaze me n intimidate me. I was like rather worried coz I haf low knowledge of the lit world in comparison to these ppl and was wondering how I was gg 2 do well 4 de mod. But den, I remembered how it’s more important to keep ur arguments and reasoning simple and to deal wif the texts with ur heart n mind n not juz to be able to know more than u r sppsd 2. The fact tt Dr Whalen-Bridge gave kind of a +ve comment on a post I had put up in the forum kind of calmed me down n assure me tt I was in the right track

-English 1101E was well, not tt bad although in the 2^nd lec I nodded off quite a few times. Hopefully, I manage to stay awake in the subsequent lecs coz wat she says seems 2 b impt n essential. Oh n during de lec I saw a senior fr VJ…dunno whether he still recognise me but I remember him well coz he’s my mortal when we played the angel-mortal game wif our senior class. I remember him well coz he draws so well especially anime n in every letter he sends to me he will draw me a character n wat’s more, most of the characs he drew were his own creation. He’s such a nice guy n in de 2 lecs, I saw him draw while waiting 4 de lec 2 start…Hmmm wonder if I shld approach him n c whether he remembers me..Haha, I’m not tt confident since I was only in VJ 4 like less than 3 mths, so mayb he’ll not remember me well..Oh well, we’ll c…

So there, how de lecs haf been like…wat happens after this, I’m not tt sure..hopefully it’s 4 de best…..tell u in de next post how de 2^nd wk of sch was like…
